Dong-Eui University of Science and Technology Successfully Hosts Capstone Design Competition

Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Young-do) held the '2024 Capstone Design Competition' at the Jinri Hall Convention Center on the 30th of last month.

The competition was divided into engineering and non-engineering categories, showcasing various projects with a total of 60 teams and over 250 students participating in a heated contest. Students had the opportunity to directly acquire practical skills and problem-solving abilities by carrying out the entire project process from planning, designing, developing, to presenting.

Capstone Design is a project-based learning course that combines the knowledge and skills accumulated during classes to creatively and innovatively solve problems that may be encountered in real-world work environments.

In the engineering category, the Daechul Drone Team (Department of Computer Software) won the grand prize, while the Gold Prize went to the Ohapjijol Team (Department of Electrical Engineering), Honaejima Team (Department of Electric Vehicles), and Heavy Metal Busters Team (Department of Chemical Engineering). The Silver Prize was awarded to the Ajangjang-i Team (Department of Mechanical Engineering), Seunghyeop-i and Children Team (Department of Semiconductor Electronics Industry), Amor Fati Team (Department of Electric Vehicles), Nareunhan Horangi Team (Department of Electric Vehicles), and Sea You Again Team (Department of Chemical Engineering). The Bronze Prize was given to multiple teams including the Museum Team (Department of Mechanical Engineering), Well Made Team (Department of Electric Vehicles), and Lee Sung-jo Team (Department of Computer Software).

In the non-engineering category, the Chiryui Son-gil Team (Department of Emergency Medical Services) won the grand prize, with the Gold Prize awarded to the Rad Team (Department of Radiology) and Jamdolmengi Team (Department of Emergency Medical Services). The Silver Prize went to the Kobokji Team (Department of Physical Therapy), Youth Idol Team (Department of Culinary Arts), and Pinocchio Team (Department of Early Childhood Education). The Bronze Prize was awarded to the Earth Us Team (Department of Dessert Cafe Entrepreneurship), Lee Children Team (Department of Physical Therapy), MLS Team (Department of Clinical Pathology), and Sup Team (Department of Early Childhood Education).

A representative from Dong-Eui Institute of Technology stated, "We hope this competition served as an important stepping stone for students to enhance their creativity and practical skills and to gain competitiveness in the industrial field." They added, "We will continue to provide various opportunities for students to grow into professionals equipped with practical experience."
