"Making It Myself Sparks My Curiosity"
Saewool Nuclear Power Headquarters of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (Head: So You-seop) held the 'Atom Engineering Classroom' on the 4th at Myeongsan Elementary School in Seosaeng-myeon, Ulju-gun, targeting students from grades 3 to 6 to easily convey scientific principles and satisfy curiosity about science and technology.
The 'Atom Engineering Classroom' is a representative knowledge donation program conducted by Saewool Nuclear Power Headquarters, designed as a future science talent development program that fosters scientific imagination and creativity through hands-on practice using various science kits.
Under the theme of 'Obstacle-Detecting Car,' the Atom Engineering Classroom on this day involved experiential learning where students assembled a car that avoids obstacles using detection sensors. Notably, union leaders including Chairman Moon Ji-hoon and union members participated as science classroom instructors, adding significance through talent donation.
Students who participated in the Atom Engineering Classroom said, "I used to think science was difficult, but building models and experiencing it firsthand to learn scientific principles sparked my curiosity and made it more enjoyable."
Saewool Nuclear Power Headquarters plans to conduct the Atom Engineering Classroom throughout November for elementary students in nearby areas such as Seongdong Elementary School, Seosaeng Elementary School, and Myeongsan Elementary School.
