Geochang-gun to Conduct 2024 Household and Housing Basic Survey

Until the 27th, 26,600 households including vacant houses in the district

Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province will conduct the "2024 Household and Housing Basic Survey" from the 8th to the 27th, targeting all residences and households within the jurisdiction.

The 2024 Household and Housing Basic Survey is conducted every five years under the supervision of Statistics Korea. It aims to collect basic information on all residences and households to be used as fundamental data for accurate survey district setting and sample frame construction for the 2025 Population and Housing Census and the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Census, as well as for establishing housing support policies.

The survey targets approximately 26,600 households in the area, including all residences and households, even vacant houses. However, apartments built between 5 and less than 30 years ago are excluded from the field survey as they can be verified through administrative data.

The survey items consist of a total of 14 categories, including type of residence, vacancy status, and form of housing facilities. The survey will be conducted through on-site verification by surveyors and will also include telephone (call center) surveys.

Governor Gu In-mo stated, "This Household and Housing Basic Survey is conducted to collect basic information on all households and housing to supplement administrative data and serve as fundamental data for survey district setting. Especially as it is a preparatory survey for the 2025 Population and Housing Census, which marks its 100th anniversary, we ask for active cooperation and responses to ensure accurate statistics."
