Irem Holds XR-B Signboard Ceremony at Eumseong Factory... "Starting Production of Vanadium Redox Battery ESS"

XRB, a company specializing in vanadium redox flow battery energy storage systems (ESS), announced on the 4th that it held a plaque ceremony on the 1st after establishing a production system at Irem's Eumseong factory.

Irem's Eumseong factory is designed with an area of approximately 60,000㎡. XRB uses a portion of this space and has established a production system aiming for an annual ESS production capacity of 100MWh.

XRB is building a production facility at the Eumseong factory where parts preparation, stack assembly, system integration, inspection, and shipment are carried out in a one-stop process. The company stated, "We have already secured stack technology capable of producing more than three times the output compared to competitors. Cost reductions of 30-50% compared to other companies are achievable." They added, "In the future, we will secure both quality and economic efficiency through automated production facilities."

The ESS produced at the Eumseong factory will be utilized for various purposes, ranging from small renewable power generation systems to utility-scale ESS for domestic and international VPL and NWA applications, as well as long-term ESS overseas.

A company representative said, "Especially due to the rapidly increasing power demand of AI data centers recently, the necessity for ESS is growing, and the related market is expected to expand significantly. We plan to further solidify our position in the domestic and international energy storage markets."
