Kia has been on the rise since the early trading hours on the 4th. This is interpreted as an expansion of investor sentiment following consecutive credit rating upgrades by credit rating agencies due to strong sales performance.
At 9:41 AM on the day, Kia was trading at 96,800 KRW, up 2.65% (2,500 KRW) compared to the previous trading day.
On the 1st, NICE Credit Rating upgraded Kia's credit rating from 'AA+' (positive) to 'AAA' (stable). The sharp improvement in sales performance was cited as the reason for the upgrade.
NICE Credit Rating stated, "Due to the strengthened brand awareness of Kia itself, excellent sales performance is expected to be maintained," and evaluated that "Kia has secured excellent product competitiveness across all powertrains including internal combustion engines, electric vehicles, and hybrids." They further diagnosed that "it will be possible to maintain a high level of profitability in the medium term as well."
Meanwhile, in September, Kia received a 'AAA (stable)' credit rating from Korea Ratings.
