Based on three exclusive area types of 59㎡, 84㎡, and 114㎡, they presented 18 specialized floor plans according to expansion directions such as front, rear, and side extensions. The 59㎡ and 84㎡ types, configured with 2 bays (the number of spaces adjacent to the balcony), increase the number of bays through side extensions to enhance natural lighting and space utilization. The 114㎡ type, which has less demand for area increase, was diversified by improving space configuration. They also introduced a unit-separated floor plan applied for the first time in remodeling complexes at Raemian Daechi Highstern.

Additionally, various space options such as front dining areas and wide living rooms were proposed. The layout was planned by separating family living areas and private zones, and bathrooms, kitchens, and laundry rooms were placed in the structural parts where space modification is difficult to allow flexible configuration.

Samsung C&T named this remodeling-specialized floor plan brand 'EX-Unit.' After completing the design rights application, they plan to sequentially apply it to newly contracted remodeling complexes such as 'Gwangnaru Hyundai' in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, which was recently selected as the preferred negotiation partner.

Remodeling is a project that improves aging residential environments by keeping the existing structure intact while expanding the unit area. However, since the existing building structure is maintained during construction, there have been limitations in creating various floor plans like those of newly built apartments.

Byun Dong-gyu, head of the Remodeling Team at the Housing Business Headquarters, said, "We plan to actively apply various new technologies, including the remodeling-specialized floor plans developed this time, to actual projects," and added, "We will continue to strive for the development of diverse technologies to revitalize the remodeling market."
