A+ Achieved in All ESG Categories
SK Chemicals has achieved an A+ rating for three consecutive years in the comprehensive ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management evaluation.
SK Chemicals announced on the 4th that it received an overall A+ rating in the 2024 ESG evaluation conducted by the Korea Corporate Governance Service (KCGS).
This marks the third time since obtaining a comprehensive A+ rating in the 2022 KCGS evaluation. Only three companies, including SK Chemicals, have achieved an A+ rating for three consecutive years in the KCGS evaluation. Among chemical and pharmaceutical-biotech companies, SK Chemicals is the only one.

In detailed categories, SK Chemicals also improved from an A rating last year to an A+ rating in the governance sector, achieving A+ ratings across all categories.
SK Chemicals analyzed that its continuous efforts to advance governance for transparent board management contributed to the higher evaluation score in the governance sector. This year, the company appointed a female outside director to secure board diversity.
Additionally, as the first in the domestic chemical industry, SK Chemicals obtained approval for its short-term greenhouse gas reduction target for 2032 from the Science Based Targets initiative, reflecting its efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the environmental evaluation. In the social sector, the company received favorable evaluations for diagnosing human rights management levels and deriving improvement tasks for employees, partners, and local communities based on global guidelines.
SK Chemicals plans to further strengthen its sustainable management system by advancing ESG management across all environmental, social, and governance sectors.
Kim Ki-dong, Head of Management Support at SK Chemicals, said, "We plan to strive to become a sustainable company that presents greater environmental and social value through ESG-centered management activities and decision-making."
