Yongin City Attracts Semiconductor Investment at 'Invest Korea Summit 2024'

Promotion of Semiconductor Complex in Wonsam Peninsula by Idong and Namsa

Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 4th that it will participate in the 'Invest Korea Summit 2024' held from the 6th to the 8th at the Grand InterContinental Parnas Seoul in Samseong-dong, Seoul, to actively engage in investment attraction activities.

Yongin City Attracts Semiconductor Investment at 'Invest Korea Summit 2024'

This event is the largest foreign investment attraction event in Korea, hosted by Invest Korea, a national investment promotion agency established by KOTRA. Approximately 2,000 participants, including investment companies from various countries, domestic companies, and foreign diplomatic envoys in Korea, are expected to attend.


At the event, the city plans to actively attract foreign investment by promoting policies related to the semiconductor industry and the city's investment environment.


During the event, the Economic Free Zone (FEZ) and local government exhibition booths will be open for two days on the 6th and 7th. This year, exhibition booths are set up for the ▲ Semiconductor & Bio ▲ Mobility & Aerospace ▲ Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Integrated Logistics ▲ Secondary Battery & Hydrogen sectors, with 18 FEZs and local governments promoting key industries and industrial complex development plans.


The city will promote to overseas investors focusing on ▲ Yongin’s ‘L-shaped semiconductor ecosystem’ development ▲ expansion of transportation infrastructure for the semiconductor industry ▲ the Ildong and Namsa Advanced System Semiconductor National Industrial Complex ▲ and the Wonsam Yongin Semiconductor Cluster General Industrial Complex.


A city official stated, "We will strive to showcase the potential of Yongin City as a global semiconductor hub to the world through this event and achieve successful investment attraction outcomes."
