Goyang City Receives Prime Minister's Commendation as an 'Outstanding Institution for Proposal Activation'

Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 4th that it received the Prime Minister's Commendation in the '2024 Proposal Activation Excellence Institution Evaluation' hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

This year, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety evaluated central administrative agencies, metropolitan and basic local governments nationwide, and metropolitan and provincial offices of education based on the proposal adoption rate and implementation rate improvement, the number of matured adopted proposals, and excellent performance cases resulting from the implementation of adopted proposals from August 2023 to July 2024. A total of six excellent institutions were selected nationwide.

In this evaluation, Goyang City submitted six excellent performance cases including ▲ One-stop care information! Establishment of Goyang City Integrated Child Care Service Platform ▲ Integrated care project for elderly visiting health targets ▲ Promotion of Goyang-customized new senior jobs centered on demand organizations. The city was highly evaluated for reflecting excellent proposals that provide practical help to citizens and resonate with them into policies, earning the honor of receiving the Prime Minister's Commendation.

Additionally, in the '2024 Central Excellent Proposal Competition' hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Kim Jin-seol, team leader of the Vehicle Registration Division of Goyang City, achieved a double celebration by winning the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award (Encouragement Award) in the public official proposal category for the proposal to improve the collection rate using the private car residual value age-exceeding cancellation system.

A city official stated, "This result was achieved through the excellent ideas of citizens and the proactive efforts of responsible public officials to realize proposals," adding, "We will continue to actively discover excellent proposals through communication with citizens and incorporate them into policies to contribute to making Goyang Special City a better place to live."
