If You Have a Sookmyung Women's University Student ID... GS25 Sells 1000 Won Lunchboxes

Weekday Sale at Sookdae GS25
Three Lunchbox Varieties Priced at 1000 KRW Instead of 5200 KRW

GS Retail's convenience store GS25 announced on the 4th that it will launch the '1,000 Won Lunchbox' campaign, offering lunchboxes for 1,000 won during the morning hours throughout November in collaboration with Sookmyung Women's University.

GS25 explained that this campaign was planned to reduce the food expenses burden on young people in the era of high prices and to contribute to the formation of healthy eating habits among university students who have a high rate of skipping breakfast. Additionally, it is expected to promote rice consumption and foster mutual growth with local farmers.

The campaign will be held every weekday from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the GS25 Sookdae Student Union Branch. When paying with a Sookmyung Women's University student ID card, customers can purchase three popular lunchbox types, originally priced at 5,200 won, for 1,000 won through an immediate discount.

The target products are ▲ Hyejaroun Handon Banban Jeyuk (Half-and-Half Pork Stir-fry) ▲ Hyejaroun Tongtong Ssoya & Bulgogi ▲ Ryu Su-young’s Charcoal-grilled Pork with Corn Rice. Before selecting the event products, GS25 analyzed the lunchbox sales rankings at about 30 GS25 stores near universities in Seoul from January to mid-October this year. Subsequently, the two Kim Hyeja lunchbox products with the highest sales (Hyejaroun Handon Banban Jeyuk and Hyejaroun Tongtong Ssoya & Bulgogi) were selected.

According to GS25, on the first day of the event, the 1st of this month, the prepared stock was quickly sold out as students flocked to the campus store. Participating Sookmyung Women's University students said they were able to have breakfast at an affordable price.

GS25 plans to expand participating schools in the future to support meals for more young people.

Lee Jeong-pyo, head of GS Retail’s O4O division, said, "GS25, which has been conducting various customer participation marketing activities for university students both online and offline, aims to provide generous breakfast meals to young people amid high prices," adding, "We will continue to practice the value of sharing through various ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) marketing campaigns together with future generations."

Meanwhile, GS25 is carrying out social contribution activities to support the younger generation and expand its touchpoints. In June this year, it partnered with Hanyang University ERICA to participate in an industry-academia cooperation project hosted by the Seoul Design Foundation, supporting young designers for about five months. Last year, it toured university campuses nationwide with the 'Hyejaroun School Attack Food Truck' event, distributing lunchboxes.
