Essential Guide for a Happy Marriage... Yeongdeungpo-gu Operates Premarital Classes

Operating 'Premarital Couple Class' for 15 pairs at the District Office Annex on Feb 9 at 1:30 PM
Helps design a happy married life based on mutual understanding through personality type tests

Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it will operate a "Pre-Marriage Couple Class" to enhance understanding of married life and support happy family life for engaged couples and others preparing for marriage.

The "Pre-Marriage Couple Class," established as essential education for engaged couples, is one of the life cycle family education programs for newlyweds, engaged couples, and couples who have recently married.

It is designed to help couples starting a new chapter prevent early marital conflicts and build a stable family.

The "Pre-Marriage Couple Class" consists of two sessions, held on November 2 and 9 at 1:30 PM in the auditorium on the 5th floor of the district office annex, targeting a total of 15 couples.

On the 2nd, the first session includes a personality type test (DISC) to understand each other's personalities and take time to consider the other's perspective. The focus is on how to understand and interact with the partner rather than "how to speak," learning communication methods to express one's emotions and resolve conflicts.

On the 9th, the second session emphasizes drawing each other's "life curve" and planning specific aspects of married life such as financial management. Couples will discuss the basic mindset needed to create a mature family and the married life they will build together, taking time to learn concretely about life after marriage.

The "Pre-Marriage Couple Class" is open to any couple living in the Seoul metropolitan area or preparing for marriage. Participation is free, and interested couples can apply through the QR code on the poster.

Couples who attend both sessions will receive a workbook and a certificate of completion that can be used even after the education.

Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, stated, "As couples face the important turning point of newlywed life, I hope the 'Pre-Marriage Couple Class' helps them reflect on the meaning of each other and build a stronger and happier family." He added, "We will support not only engaged families but also all residents to create happy families in Yeongdeungpo based on understanding and communication."
