Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, attended the ‘2024 Mapo Mayor’s Cup Leap Challenge Cup with Son Yeon-jae’ held at the Mapo Community Sports Center at 4:50 PM on the 2nd, encouraging the rhythmic gymnastics athletes.
This competition was hosted by Mapo District and the Mapo Sports Council, and organized by Leap Studio and Next Uforia, aiming to expand the base of rhythmic gymnastics and discover promising talents.
About 300 participants, including kindergarten, elementary junior athletes, and adult amateur players, showcased their honed skills.
In particular, this competition featured a program involving former national representative Son Yeon-jae, enhancing the athletes’ skills and encouraging local residents’ interest in rhythmic gymnastics.
On the first day of the competition, November 2nd, kindergarten and elementary division matches and a gala show were held, and on the second day, November 3rd, adult division matches and a master class directly led by Son Yeon-jae are scheduled.
Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, said, “I hope this competition will widely promote the charm of rhythmic gymnastics to Mapo residents and serve as an opportunity to nurture the dreams of local youth,” adding, “We will continue to expand opportunities for residents to enjoy and participate together through various sports events.”
