On the afternoon of the 2nd, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, attended the 2024 Pet Culture Festival ‘Nowon Banham’ held at Nowon Madeul Stadium soccer field.
The Nowon District Pet Culture Festival ‘Enjoy with Your Pets in Nowon (abbreviated as Nowon Banham)’ marked its 7th year this year. Each year, a theme is set, and this year’s theme is ‘Together with Nowon District~ Don’t Buy, Adopt.’ This is to raise awareness about the importance of adopting abandoned animals.
Various programs were held at the event where pet families could come together and enjoy.
At the center of the festival site, a ‘Petiquette Sports Day’ featuring various events such as ‘Hurdle Jumping’ and ‘Lava Cone Running’ was held, divided into small and medium-sized dogs and large dogs, and a dedicated playground and experience booths for pets were also set up.
Participatory games such as the ‘Godzilla Game’ and ‘Wait, Wait’ game, as well as activities like making handmade snacks and crafting toys and poop bag holders, were also conducted, receiving great responses from visitors.
The opening ceremony was attended by Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, Woo Won-shik, Speaker of the National Assembly, city council members, guests, and residents, and included guest introductions, greetings, an award ceremony for the pet contest winners, a picket campaign, and a lucky draw.
Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, said, “As the population raising pets increases, pets are becoming members of the family,” and added, “I hope this ‘Nowon Banham’ festival will provide precious memories for residents and serve as an opportunity to spread a mature pet culture.”
