Nowon District Mayor Oh Seung-rok Attends ‘LOLOLO Youth Festival’

Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, Seoul, attended the ‘LOLOLO Youth Festival’ held on November 1 at the Gyeongchun Line Gongneung Forest Trail.

The district recently organized this festival at the “Gyeongchun Line Gongneung Forest Trail (also known as Gongridan-gil),” which has become a popular spot among young people. The aim was to encourage greater youth participation.

This festival was filled with diverse programs showcasing the passion and individuality of local youth. It featured a youth song contest and performances by local young artists, a zero-waste market operated in collaboration with the Nowon Green Campus Town Project Group, a talk show (YouTuber Heecheol-ism), a performance by comedian Park Semi, and participation from various organizations such as the ‘Seoul Youth Center Nowon,’ ‘Youth Tomorrow,’ and ‘Youth Empathy,’ expanding connections with young people.

The highlight of the event was the ‘Youth Song Contest,’ where seven youth teams from Nowon District, selected through preliminary rounds, competed for a total prize of 3 million won. Rapper Don Mills’ congratulatory performance also filled the festival venue with youthful energy.

This festival was held in conjunction with the LOLOLO Art Fair and the Contemporary Art Festival, events symbolizing young art in Nowon. At ‘Culture Salon 5120,’ over 40 works by young and emerging artists were exhibited, and 11 contemporary art pieces by emerging artists were displayed in an outdoor gallery format along the Gyeongchun Line Gongneung Forest Trail area, attracting many visitors.

Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, "I hope this festival becomes an opportunity for young people to empathize and unite," adding, "We will continue to spare no support for Nowon, a young city where youth culture can flourish."
