Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Young-do) announced on the 1st that the Semiconductor Technology Officer Training Project Group conducted the ‘2024 Semiconductor Technology Officer Training Project Domestic Training for 2nd Year High School Students’ from the 23rd to the 25th of last month at Genexsem Co., Ltd., Hurim Robot Co., Ltd., FST, and Seoul COEX.
This training was held to enhance participants' awareness of the project through visits to participating companies, training sessions, and exhibition attendance, as well as to investigate the semiconductor market status and improve understanding of semiconductor job roles.
On this day, 18 second-year high school students (from Daekwang High School and Dong-Eui High School) participating in the Semiconductor Technology Officer Training Project Group at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, along with 6 chaperones including teachers from the respective high schools and professors from the Department of Semiconductor Electronics Industry, participated.
On the first day, the 23rd, they visited Bucheon Robo Park to observe next-generation growth engines such as intelligent robots. On the second day, the 24th, they visited Seoul COEX to attend the semiconductor exhibition (SEDEX) and visited Genexsem Co., Ltd. to receive education on semiconductor equipment manufacturing. On the last day, the 25th, they visited FST and Hurim Robot Co., Ltd. to receive education on semiconductors and pellicles, as well as manufacturing robots, robot application systems, and service robots.
The ‘Technology Officer Training Project’ aims to cultivate excellent professional technical personnel who play a pivotal role in core industries such as automotive, machinery, electronics, and semiconductors through linked education among specialized high schools, junior colleges, and industries. Since 2010, it has operated industry-demand customized curricula to train professional technical personnel.
Kim Dae-kyung, head of the Semiconductor Technology Officer Project Group at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, said, “This domestic training provided participating students with the opportunity to understand the competencies and job roles required by partner companies and to investigate the current status of the semiconductor market. We will strive further to produce many outstanding talents in semiconductor-related fields through successful project execution in the future.”
Dong-Eui Institute of Technology was selected as a Semiconductor Technology Officer Training Project Group in 2022, with Daekwang High School and Dong-Eui High School participating as partner high schools. The project is operated in cooperation with 25 small and medium-sized enterprises, including Genexsem Co., Ltd. and Hurim Robot Co., Ltd.
The Semiconductor Technology Talent Development Project Group at Dong-Eui Science University is conducting domestic training for high school sophomores.
