As the song "Apartment" (APT), performed by BLACKPINK member Ros? and famous American pop star Bruno Mars, gains global popularity by entering the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart at number 8, a video showing North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un and Kim Yo-jong, Deputy Director of the North Korean Workers' Party, singing and dancing to "Apartment" has been released, attracting attention online.

On the 31st of last month, a video containing this content was uploaded to the YouTube channel "Hwaseongin Rildoji." The video was revealed to be a deepfake (AI-generated realistic fake content) created by the YouTuber, synthesizing and rewriting the lyrics to make it appear as if Kim Jong-un and Kim Yo-jong were singing. It has garnered high interest from netizens, surpassing 620,000 views within 15 hours of release.

The video begins by rewriting the introduction of "Apartment," originally "Chaeyoung likes random games, random games, game start," to "Parents like provocative plans, provocative plans, nonsense," sung by North Korea's top announcer Ri Chun-hee. Then, "Apartment" is rewritten as "Rocket," satirizing North Korea's missile launches and Russia's deployment of troops to North Korea.

In particular, the English lyrics were replaced with Korean lyrics that sound similar in pronunciation, impressing netizens. For example, "Kissy face, kissy face. Sent to your phone but" was rewritten as "Giseupbae-chi, giseupbae-chi, seondu-e pogyeok" (meaning "surprise deployment, surprise deployment, bombardment at the forefront"), and "Hold on, hold on. I'm on my way" was rewritten as "Hondon, hondon, nan onnurye" (meaning "chaos, chaos, I am everywhere") with similar sounds. Kim Yo-jong's voice was dubbed over Ros?'s parts, and Kim Jong-un's voice replaced Bruno Mars' parts.

Netizens who watched the video responded enthusiastically with comments such as "If this YouTuber is still alive, Kim Jong-un must be a fan too," "North Korea Aoji Chart No. 1," "BruNORTH Mars," "Kim Jong-un will probably get addicted," "Spread it more worldwide," "How about playing this daily on loudspeakers aimed at the North," "Making it sound similar to the original pronunciation is truly insane," "Kim Juae also subscribed," and "This is true liberal democracy."

The YouTuber who created this video has previously released parody content featuring Kim Yo-jong and Kim Jong-un. Last September, they gained attention by parodying Urban Zakapa's Jo Hyun-ah's new song "Julge" ("I'll Give"). The video showed Kim Yo-jong singing and dancing while wearing the stage outfit that singer Jo Hyun-ah had worn.

The lyrics included satirical lines mocking North Korea's daily release of pollution balloons, such as "I'll give, I'll give all the filth," "My leftover trash road to the South," "I'll give you all the filth," "I want genuine people's spirit," "I want a greedy leader," "I love pro-North," and "Filth is better than southern land," which brought laughter.
