Preliminary Inspection in Preparation for the Full Implementation of the 6th Seasonal Fine Dust Management Program

Goyang-si, Intensive Inspection on Indoor Air Quality Management in Underground Stations Goyang Special City has been conducting intensive inspections on indoor air quality management at eight underground stations within Goyang City since the 30th.

Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 1st that it conducted a focused inspection of indoor air quality management at eight underground stations within Goyang City on the 30th in preparation for the full-scale implementation of the 6th Seasonal Fine Dust Management System.

The Seasonal Fine Dust Management System is a policy that enforces strengthened fine dust emission reduction measures from December 1st to March 31st of the following year, when fine dust concentrations are high due to seasonal factors.

The eight underground stations in Goyang City are Daehwa Station, Juyeop Station, Jeongbalsan Station, Madu Station, Baekseok Station, Hwajeong Station, Wonheung Station, and Samsong Station.

During this inspection, it was confirmed whether the air purification facilities were operating properly, and the management status and replacement cycles of filters in the air purification facilities and air purifiers were carefully examined. In addition, the indoor air quality measurement records were reviewed to check for any exceedances of maintenance standard items, and the status of the display of ultrafine dust automatic measurement results on electronic signboards was verified.

A city official stated, “Underground stations are multi-use facilities used by many citizens, including vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly, so air quality management is very important,” and urged the Korea Railroad Corporation to “thoroughly maintain air purification facilities and other equipment.”
