Purpose of Spreading a Proactive Public Service Culture Within the Organization
Lecture on Cases and Know-How of Proactive Administration from a Psychological Perspective
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) conducted the ‘2024 All Staff Proactive Administration Training’ on October 30 for all employees of Jungnang-gu Office, Jungnang Facilities Management Corporation, and Jungnang Cultural Foundation.
This training was organized to spread a culture of proactive administration within the organization and to improve public officials’ awareness of proactive administration.
On the day of the training, Gong Il-hwan, head of the Administration Division at Chungnam Asan Police Station and a proactive administration instructor from the Ministry of Personnel Management, was invited to deliver a lecture titled ‘The Hidden Psychology of Proactive Administration.’
The training content included ▲ know-how on cases of proactive administration and practical methods from a psychological perspective ▲ analysis of problems and case studies of passive administration through psychological experiments.
In particular, the session addressed psychological techniques to overcome obstacles to proactive administration that public officials may encounter during their work, eliciting empathy and positive responses from the staff.
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, stated, “I hope this training will help spread a culture of proactive administration among all employees, fostering creativity and serving as an opportunity to promote more innovation and proactive administration.” He added, “We will establish an institutional support system so that public officials can practice proactive administration with a sense of responsibility.”
The district selects outstanding public officials for proactive administration and provides various incentives such as proactive administration and collaboration mileage. Based on a diverse support system for proactive administration, it plans to strive to expand the culture of proactive administration within the public service community.
