Ceramic Master Kim Chang-ho Holds Solo Exhibition on 'Onggi Cups'
Master Craftsman Jeong Young-rak Showcases Various Techniques in 'Variations of Ash Water'

On the 31st, Yeoju City in Gyeonggi Province announced that from the 30th of last month until November 4th, an exhibition of Yeoju ceramic artists will be held at The Star Gallery in Star Building, 37-1 Insadong-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
This exhibition will take place from the 1st to the 3rd floors of The Star Gallery, featuring exhibitions by Yeoju Ceramic Master No. 8 Kim Chang-ho (Obuja Onggi), Yeoju Ceramic Technician Jeong Young-rak (Yeongrak Dogi), and Kim Myung-hoon, the inheritor of National Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 96 Onggi Craft (Geumsatogi), respectively.
On the 1st floor, Kim Chang-ho, Yeoju Ceramic Master, is holding a solo exhibition titled "Onggi Cup," reflecting on the time when he first made onggi, exploring thoughts and inquiries about its essence.
On the 2nd floor, Jeong Young-rak, Yeoju Ceramic Technician, awaits visitors with an exhibition titled "Variations of Ash Water," focusing on onggi glaze called ash water, showcasing various techniques including water mark patterns.
Additionally, Kim Myung-hoon, the inheritor, is holding an exhibition on the 3rd floor titled "Trees and Jars," recalling his childhood growing up in a rural onggi shop, expressing the feeling of mountains, trees, soil, and jars always protecting him like a home in their place.
A Yeoju City official stated, "This exhibition is an opportunity to see a variety of onggi works by artists who carry on the tradition, so we hope many people will come and enjoy the profound taste of our traditional onggi."
