Guri-si Holds the 1st Party-Government Council Meeting of 2024

Establishing a Close Cooperation System Between the Party and Government for Sharing Current Projects and Supporting Special Fund Acquisition

Guri-si Holds the 1st Party-Government Council Meeting of 2024 On the 30th, Guri City held the '2024 1st Party-Government Council Meeting' with the Guri City Party Members' Council of the People Power Party in the situation room on the 3rd floor of the city hall to share major city administration projects and secure external funding such as special adjustment grants, followed by taking a commemorative photo.

The city of Guri, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 31st that it held the '2024 1st Party-Government Council' on the 30th at the situation room on the 3rd floor of the city hall to share major city administration issues with the People Power Party Guri City Party Members' Council and to secure external funding such as special adjustment grants.


This Party-Government Council was held with the participation of about 40 people, including Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri City, key senior officials of the city, Na Tae-geun, chairman of the People Power Party Guri City Party Members' Council, Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly members Baek Hyun-jong and Lee Eun-joo, Guri City Council members Kim Yong-hyun, Kim Han-seul, Lee Kyung-hee, and operating committee members of the party council.


On this day, the council members reported on the progress of major city issues such as ▲ Guri City's incorporation into Seoul ▲ Restoration project of Inchangcheon ecological stream ▲ Creation of a smart green city in the Topyeong 2 public housing district ▲ Expansion of Imunan Lake facilities and installation of convenience facilities, and strengthened party-government cooperation through discussions on various cooperation measures for speedy progress.


Additionally, they reported on 17 projects applying for Gyeonggi Province special adjustment grants, including ▲ Creation of a walking trail along the embankment of Wangsukcheon ▲ Construction of an artificial turf soccer field at the Citizen Sports Complex ▲ Establishment of a safe pedestrian path on Mangwoo Ring Road ▲ Improvement of heating and cooling environment at Guri City Comprehensive Social Welfare Center ▲ Improvement projects for pedestrian paths for the transportation disadvantaged ▲ Installation of a planetarium at Inchang Library Observatory, and requested active support to secure the special grants.


Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri City said, “Despite difficult internal and external conditions, we have been making every effort to secure external funding, having secured about 9.35 billion won over the past two years through various public contests,” and added, “We ask for the party’s active support and cooperation so that core projects for city development can proceed without any setbacks.”


Na Tae-geun, chairman of the People Power Party Guri City Party Members' Council, emphasized, “In a moment when party-government cooperation is more necessary than ever to resolve livelihood issues due to precarious security situations such as North Korea’s deployment of troops to Russia and difficult economic conditions, we will strive to turn crises into opportunities by cooperating with the People Power Party and Guri City to better address citizens’ livelihoods and propose alternatives.”
