Consultation on Strategies to Strengthen Yeoju Ceramic Competitiveness Reflecting Consumer Trends
On the 29th, Yeoju City held the 2024 Yeoju City Ceramic Industry Development Advisory Committee at the Design Support Room of the Yeoju Ceramic Day Center. Yeoju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Chung-woo) announced on the 31st that it held the 2024 Yeoju Ceramic Industry Development Advisory Committee meeting on the 29th at the Design Support Room of the Yeoju Dojananal Center.
The Ceramic Industry Development Advisory Committee was established and operates to enhance the operational efficiency of the Yeoju Dojananal Center, a shared infrastructure facility in the Yeoju Small Business Cluster, and to provide advice on matters related to the promotion, support, technology, research, and development of the ceramic industry.
This advisory committee meeting was attended by 10 of the 13 advisory members composed of experts in technology, design, research and development, collaboration system establishment, and support projects for ceramic small businesses. The meeting received advice on enhancing the image of the Yeoju ceramic joint brand "Nanal," marketing strategies for the microwaveable "Ceramic Stone Pot Rice" currently under active development in connection with Yeoju Rice's "One Meal Toktok," development of content for the Yeoju Ceramic Festival, and overall support projects for ceramic small businesses.
The advisory members praised the excellence of Nanal’s products and designs and advised on the need to develop a brand story that highlights the unique characteristics of Yeoju ceramics, differentiating them from other regions. They also recommended the Yeoju Ceramic Festival introduce annually changing themed exhibitions and special exhibitions to increase visitor satisfaction, as well as sales and experience events that can only be enjoyed and purchased at the festival.
Kim Byung-seon, Director of the Culture and Arts Division, expressed gratitude to the committee members for taking valuable time to provide advice to strengthen the competitiveness of Yeoju’s ceramic industry and enhance the image of Yeoju ceramics. He stated, “We will carefully consider the advice generously shared today with our staff and strive to present a more developed appearance.”
