Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 31st that it will hold a social networking service (SNS) photo event themed around the beautiful scenery of the Hantan River until November 15, coinciding with the autumn foliage season.
The Hantan River area, designated as a UNESCO Global Geopark in 2020, boasts high geological value and is home to famous natural attractions such as the basalt columnar joint canyon, Bidulginang Waterfall, Meonguri Gorge, and Hwajeokyeon.
Also, major tourist sites include the newly opened longest Y-shaped suspension bridge in Korea, measuring 410 meters, the Garamnuri Observatory offering panoramic views of the Hantan River, and the Hantan River Ecological Landscape Complex where an autumn flower garden event is held.
This photo event is being held on the official social networking service account (Instagram) of the Hantan River Global Geopark Center. To participate, users must follow the official account and post photos taken at designated Hantan River attractions on their personal accounts with hashtags and account tags.
The designated attractions include Garamnuri Observatory, Ecological Landscape Complex, Y-shaped Suspension Bridge, Hantan River Sky Bridge, Bidulginang Waterfall, Gyodong Gamaso, Meonguri Gorge, Busocheon, Hwajeokyeon, Guraigol, and the Hantan River Global Geopark Center.
Anyone using social networking services can participate in the event. Winning entries will be selected based on creativity, seasonal feeling, and natural beauty of the photos, and winners will receive mobile gift certificates (Gifticons).
