Inometry Receives Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Commendation at SoBuJangPpuri Technology Expo

Inometry Co., Ltd. (CEO Gapsoo Lee), a specialized company in X-ray (CT) inspection solutions for secondary batteries, announced on the 31st that it received the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Commendation at the 2024 Materials, Parts, and Equipment Root Technology Exhibition Awards.


Inometry developed and commercialized AI-based X-ray (CT) nondestructive inspection equipment, significantly improving defect detection capabilities for secondary batteries. The company was also recognized for its economic achievements, including increased exports by supplying inspection equipment to various global battery manufacturers.


The company stated, “We possess inspection solution technology that integrates precision optical design and control with AI-based image processing and inspection software, making us the first choice among domestic battery manufacturers for battery fire prevention.” They added, “At this event, we are actively sharing information and networking with domestic and international companies, investors, and industry-academia-research stakeholders.”


Hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Materials, Parts, and Equipment Root Technology Exhibition is an annual event that shares technological development achievements in the domestic materials, parts, and equipment industry and provides a platform for exchanges between domestic and international companies to discover new customers. This year’s event runs from October 30 to November 1, featuring various programs such as corporate networking, forums, and seminars in addition to the opening day awards ceremony.


Inometry is a global leading company in nondestructive inspection equipment that captures and analyzes the interior of electric vehicle batteries using X-ray or CT to detect defects. It has supplied production lines of the three major domestic battery companies, Northvolt, and other cell makers, and received the $20 million export tower award in 2022 and the $30 million export tower award in 2023.


CEO Gapsoo Lee of Inometry expressed, “I feel proud to have contributed to improving the quality of K-batteries based on world-class nondestructive inspection technology.” He also stated, “We will develop inspection equipment optimized for secondary batteries evolving with various materials and forms, supply not only existing customers but also more customers in China, Europe, and beyond, and prepare to apply nondestructive inspection to new industrial fields such as semiconductors in the future.”
