Temporary Access Road Opened at Paju Dangha Intersection... Expected to Improve Traffic Congestion

Temporary Access Road Opened at Paju Dangha Intersection... Expected to Improve Traffic Congestion Paju City will open the "Dangha Intersection Temporary Entrance and Exit Road," connecting Local Road No. 56 and Byeolharam Village, on the 31st.

Gyeonggi Paju City announced that, in cooperation with the Korea Land and Housing Corporation, it will open the 'Dangha Intersection Temporary Access Road' connecting Local Road No. 56 and Byeolharam Village on the 31st.

The temporary access road to be opened this time is expected to greatly help alleviate the chronic traffic congestion caused by the new town settlement by connecting the road from Wadong Intersection and Bethel Church Intersection, which are habitual congestion areas in Unjeong New Town, to Byeolharam Village via Local Road No. 56.

This road opening is the result of continuous consultations between Paju City and the Korea Land and Housing Corporation to resolve the increasing inconvenience to citizens due to traffic congestion near Byeolharam Village since last year.

With the opening of this temporary access road, traffic volume will be diverted and dispersed, significantly easing urban traffic congestion and greatly improving accessibility to Byeolharam Village.

Meanwhile, the Dangha Intersection connection and grade separation project, promoted as a campaign pledge of the 8th local government administration to establish a smooth traffic system in Unjeong New Town, is being implemented by the Korea Land and Housing Corporation with a target completion year of 2027. On the 24th, the urban management plan (road) decision and announcement for the construction of the bypass road on Local Road No. 359 was completed, marking the start of the full-scale promotion phase.

Additionally, construction to secure an additional lane has begun in the Wadong Intersection section, which experiences severe congestion during commuting hours. Paju City plans to strengthen administrative support in close cooperation with the Korea Land and Housing Corporation to expedite the road opening.

Kim Kyung-il, Mayor of Paju City, stated, “With the opening of the Dangha Intersection temporary access road, it is expected to contribute to alleviating traffic congestion, improving accessibility, and ensuring traffic safety by dispersing vehicles in the sections where traffic volume is concentrated in Unjeong New Town.” He added, “We will continue to cooperate closely with the Korea Land and Housing Corporation to smoothly promote the Dangha Intersection grade separation project, a pledge of the 8th local government administration, and do our best to improve the traffic conditions for residents of Unjeong New Town.”
