Samsung Electronics' 'Neo QLED 8K' Selected as 'Invention of the Year' by Time Magazine in the US

Framed Speaker 'Music Frame' Also Selected

Samsung Electronics announced on the 31st that its 2024 Neo QLED 8K (QN900D) and frame-type speaker Music Frame (LS60D) have been selected as 'Best Inventions of 2024' by TIME magazine in the United States.

The Neo QLED 8K (QN900D) was selected in the consumer electronics category.

TIME introduced that artificial intelligence (AI) technology was embedded in the Neo QLED 8K TV to allow viewers to enjoy older content more clearly. It added that the AI 8K processor's upscaling algorithm enables videos of standard quality to be displayed in sharp 8K resolution on a slim 12.9mm-thick screen.

The frame-type speaker Music Frame was selected in the design category.

TIME described how Samsung transformed a home speaker into a beautiful frame, explaining that users can place it on a stand or hang it on a wall to display photos or prints sized 8 inches by 8 inches on the product. It added that music can be played wirelessly or paired with other Samsung products for more immersive sound.

Samsung Electronics has previously received TIME's 'Best Invention of the Year' awards for the Galaxy S22 Ultra, solar-powered remote control, and The Freestyle in 2022, as well as the Galaxy Z Flip5 and microplastic filter in 2023.
