Lutton announced on the 31st that it exceeded 5 million MAU in just 1 year and 10 months since launching its service in January last year. The time it took Lutton to reach 5 million MAU was shorter than Toss (about 3 years and 3 months) and Danggeun (about 2 years), proving its growth momentum in the full-fledged AI era.

Based on accumulated data, Lutton released the '2024 Lutton User Report,' which analyzed usage patterns of its service users. The report analyzed data on what, how, and how much Lutton users have conversed with AI from early last year to the present.

According to the report, the total cumulative number of conversations exchanged between users and AI on Lutton reached 685.44 million. Regarding AI search hot topics, teenagers focused on 'studying,' 'career,' and 'friends,' while those in their 40s showed interests in 'English,' 'family,' and 'stocks,' revealing differences by age group.

For AI image content most frequently generated by users, 'people,' 'pets,' and 'logos' were the top interests. Preferred AI image styles included 'illustration,' 'animation,' 'webtoon,' 'mystical,' and 'realistic.'

By occupation, college students’ main AI conversation interests were science/technology (30%), movies/entertainment/dramas (27%), and news/issues (24%), while office workers focused on shopping/consumption (33%), restaurants/food (30%), and companies/industries (30%).

Analysis of polite speech frequency in AI conversations showed that older age groups tended to regard AI as a person and used polite language more often. Those aged 60 and above used polite speech about once every five utterances (19.67%), whereas those in their 20s used it about 5%, and teenagers about 3% of the time.

The top 10% of Lutton users (by usage time) were found to use AI 'character chat' for an average of 1,343 minutes per month, which is twice as long as KakaoTalk (688 minutes, according to Mobile Index survey in June this year).

Their 'AI search' usage time also reached an average of 386 minutes per month, approaching 80% of Naver’s 484 minutes (according to Mobile Index survey in May this year). The report is available for download on Lutton’s website.

Se-young Lee, CEO of Lutton, stated, "We will continue to provide all consumer AI services that the public needs faster, with high quality, and unlimited for free. We aim to lead the popularization of AI in Korea through more aggressive service expansion targeting 10 million MAU next year."
