King Jung meets Russian Deputy Foreign Minister... Speculation on exchanging views about 'North Korea troop dispatch'

China's top diplomat and Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister exchanged views on the Ukraine war, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the 30th.

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Wang Yi, Director of the Central Foreign Affairs Office of the Communist Party of China (also serving as Foreign Minister), met with Andrey Rudenko, Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister, in Beijing on the same day. Although the ministry did not disclose the details of their discussion on the Ukraine war issue, it is analyzed that the dispatch of North Korean troops was likely a topic of discussion.

Director Wang said, "China and Russia are comprehensive strategic cooperative partners, and the development of bilateral relations has an inevitable historical logic and strong endogenous momentum," adding, "They are not influenced by international changes, do not target any third country, nor are they subject to interference from any third country."

He continued, "Under the leadership of President Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin, China-Russia relations maintain a healthy development trend, and both have contributed to upholding the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter."

Deputy Foreign Minister Rudenko responded, "Russia-China relations are developing rapidly and are at the best period in history," adding, "Russia is willing to seriously implement the plans of the two heads of state together with China, maintain close high-level exchanges, and continue cooperation on international and regional affairs."

Despite South Korea, Ukraine, the United States, and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) successively mentioning signs of North Korea's troop dispatch, China has officially expressed the view that it "is not aware of the relevant situation."
