New Busan-Bali Route Starting from the 30th... Operates 4 Times a Week (Mon, Wed, Fri)
First Flight BX601 Achieves 100% Load Factor... Successful Operation Begins
Air Busan has expanded the skies of Busan by launching the Busan-Bali regular route, becoming the first domestic airline to operate this new service.
On the afternoon of the 30th, Air Busan held a launch ceremony to commemorate the inaugural flight of the Busan-Bali route.
The ceremony took place at the expanded international terminal of Gimhae Airport, which opened in April and is exclusively used by Air Busan. To celebrate the launch, key figures including Park Hyung-joon, Mayor of Busan; Kim Jae-woon, Chairman of the Busan City Council Construction and Transportation Committee; Yang Jae-saeng, Chairman of the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Lee Jin-cheol, Director of the Busan Regional Aviation Administration; and other dignitaries attended the event.
The event featured congratulatory speeches, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and a special traditional Indonesian performance. The first flight from Busan, BX601, recorded a 100% occupancy rate, marking a successful start.
In his congratulatory speech, Air Busan CEO Doo Sung-guk expressed gratitude, saying, “Thanks to the support of distinguished guests and the residents of the Southeast region, including the citizens of Busan, we have launched the Bali route, which holds symbolic significance as the first Indonesian air route and the longest direct flight from Gimhae Airport.” He added, “Based on our corporate philosophy of perfect safety, convenient service, and practical pricing, we will faithfully serve as a bridge connecting Busan and Indonesia.”
The Air Busan Busan-Bali route operates four times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday). The flight departs Busan at 5:50 PM and arrives in Bali at 11:45 PM local time. The return flight leaves Bali at 1:05 AM and arrives in Busan at 9:00 AM on the same day.
The Bali route uses Air Busan’s next-generation aircraft, the A321NeoLR, with a total of 220 seats. Each seat is equipped with a power outlet and USB port, providing a convenient travel experience.
CEO Doo Sung-guk stated, “We are pleased to significantly alleviate the inconvenience that local residents using Gimhae Airport had to travel to Incheon Airport to access medium- and long-haul routes.” He continued, “As a representative hub airline of Busan, we will actively work to attract and develop new routes to expand mobility rights for local residents, while enhancing Air Busan’s core competitiveness to achieve greater growth.”
Air Busan has led efforts to secure new routes at Gimhae Airport to improve convenience for local residents. As a result, in May, it successfully secured the Busan-Indonesia Bali traffic rights, enabling the operation of a medium- and long-haul direct route that was previously unavailable at Gimhae Airport.
