Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education and Jeon-gyo-jo Jeonnam Branch Sign Policy Agreement for Second Half of the Year

Win-Win Cooperation Partnership... Agreement on 37 Agendas

The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced on the 30th that it held the '2024 Second Half Policy Consultation Agreement Ceremony' at the main office conference room with representatives from both labor and management of the Jeonnam branch of the Korean Teachers and Education Workers Union (KTU) in attendance.


During this policy consultation, both parties agreed on 37 agenda items, including ▲reducing teachers' administrative workload ▲improving treatment ▲eradicating power harassment ▲protecting educational activities ▲safeguarding teachers' rights ▲and improving conditions for kindergarten nutrition and special education.

Both sides discussed reflecting the voices from the education field and improving education policies. In particular, the consultation focused on improving teachers' treatment and addressing urgent difficulties faced on the ground.


Shin Wang-sik, the branch chief, stated, “Jeonnam is facing difficulties in the education field, such as teacher quota reductions,” and added, “I hope the agreed agenda items will be properly implemented in schools to create an environment where teachers can fully concentrate on education.”


Kim Dae-jung, Superintendent of Education, said, “To overcome the current crisis and ensure a sustainable future for Jeonnam education, labor and management must join forces and work hand in hand,” and added, “I hope that the Jeonnam Office of Education and the Jeonnam branch of the KTU will continue to maintain a partnership based on communication, cooperation, and mutual understanding.”
