From the 11th to 24th of next month, citywide 'Jinggeomdari Classroom' sessions
Osan City in Gyeonggi Province will hold the "5th Osan Lifelong Learning Neighborhood Festival" across the city for two weeks from the 11th to the 24th of next month.
This festival consists of over 200 programs across seven areas: ▲ Jingeomdari Classrooms ▲ Dong Lifelong Learning Center ▲ Lifelong Learning Clubs ▲ Adult Literacy ▲ Gyeonggi Happy Learning Villages ▲ School-Community Cooperation with Osan University ▲ Lifelong Education Support Institutions.
Osan citizen instructors and various local entities will host programs under the theme "Learning Together! The Power to Brighten Tomorrow" at Jingeomdari Classrooms located throughout the city, including cafes, workshops, lifelong education facilities, and senior welfare centers. Jingeomdari Classrooms are 223 shared learning spaces set up in idle spaces within a 10-minute distance from home to enjoy lifelong education.
Earlier, in September, the city held a preliminary briefing session for about 30 citizen festival promotion committee members from each sector. The committee plans to operate and evaluate this festival by planning various lifelong learning programs utilizing Jingeomdari Classrooms as festival venues.
Applications for festival programs will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis starting from the 1st of next month. Education applications can be made through the Osan City Education Portal.
Meanwhile, Jingeomdari Classrooms received an encouragement award at this year’s "National Lifelong Learning City Festival" Good Policy Awards.
