On the 30th, Seosan City in Chungnam held the 'Final Report Meeting on Site Analysis and Basic Plan Establishment Service for the Construction of the New City Hall' in the main conference room of the city hall.
The final report meeting was attended by over 100 people, including Mayor Lee Wan-seop of Seosan, senior officials, and representatives from the service provider.
The attendees received reports from the service provider on △analysis of development conditions △analysis of candidate sites △analysis of construction feasibility, and more.
Afterwards, the service provider presented the draft of the basic plan for the construction of the city hall, comprehensive conclusions, policy recommendations, and specific implementation strategies.
In addition, a Q&A session was held with the attendees after the presentation.
The city plans to finalize the basic plan based on the results of the service and this report meeting, and proceed with the city hall construction project.
Furthermore, this year, the city will decide on the construction project implementation method and go through a public architecture review, and in 2025, it plans to launch a design competition to produce a high-quality design proposal.
Mayor Lee Wan-seop stated, "I believe the city hall is the home of all citizens and is closely related to the pride of Seosan City," adding, "We will do our best to promote the construction of a city hall worthy of the status of a leading city on the West Coast, aiming for its opening in 2030 with a sense of speed."
Meanwhile, the new Seosan City Hall, which has passed the local finance investment review by Chungcheongnam-do, is planned to be built with an investment of 167.3 billion KRW on the site of the Seosan Culture Center, with a total floor area of 38,262 square meters.
