Shinhan Didim Global EMP Fund, One Month After Launching Didim Fund... Ranked No.1 in Individual Capital Inflow

The Didim Fund, a joint brand of the Korea Financial Investment Association and the asset management industry, has marked its one-month anniversary since launch. Shinhan Asset Management's 'Shinhan Didim Global EMP' fund is showing a meaningful start in terms of scale and returns.

Shinhan Asset Management announced on the 30th that 2.5 billion KRW flowed into the Shinhan Didim Global EMP fund over the past month. It was confirmed to have attracted the largest amount of individual investor funds among the Didim Funds. This amount accounts for more than 40% of the 6.1 billion KRW increase in individual investors.

The Didim Fund, simultaneously launched by 25 asset management companies on the 25th of last month, is a balanced fund (BF) product that seeks stable returns through asset allocation strategies. It is designed to maintain a certain ratio of risky assets such as stocks and safe assets such as bonds, aiming for lower volatility than traditional performance dividend-type funds and higher returns than deposit interest rates. It is expected to play a key role in preparing retirement assets for investors.

Shinhan Asset Management remodeled its existing 'Shinhan TRF Growth OCIO Solution' fund to meet the Didim Fund requirements and launched it as the Shinhan Didim Global EMP fund. The stock ratio is set below 50%, allowing investment of up to 100% of retirement pension reserves. Accordingly, the fund's risk rating was lowered from level 3 to level 4, enabling conservative investors to invest with confidence.

The global EMP fund, which diversifies investments across stocks, bonds, alternative assets with different investment risks, invests more than 50% in exchange-traded funds (ETFs) to maximize risk diversification effects. While constructing a portfolio centered on overseas stocks and domestic bonds, it also invests partially in alternative assets to hedge against rising interest rates and inflation.

The one-month performance of the Shinhan Didim Global EMP fund is 2.29%, surpassing the industry average return of 1.04%. Although the period is short, the gap is widening.

Kim Choong-sun, Executive Director of Shinhan Asset Management, said, "The Shinhan Didim Global EMP fund aims for a target return of inflation rate plus 3% annually," adding, "As a leading first-generation TDF operator, we will strive to achieve further growth in the retirement pension market through the Didim Fund, based on our continuous performance creation experience in the default option BF sector."
