Pocheon City Successfully Concludes the '2024 Pocheon Agricultural Specialties Grand Festival' Pocheon Agricultural Foundation is holding the '2024 Pocheon Agricultural Special Products Festival' at Pocheon Sports Complex from the 26th to the 27th.

The Pocheon Agricultural Foundation (CEO Seok Young-hwan) announced on the 29th that the '2024 Pocheon Agricultural Specialties Grand Festival,' held at the Pocheon Sports Complex from the 26th to the 27th, was successfully concluded.


This festival was held in conjunction with several events, including the Kaesong Ginseng Festival, Agricultural Day commemorative events, and Food Safety Day activities.


At the festival, the integrated agricultural specialties brand 'Pocheon Gadeuk,' which represents Pocheon's pristine nature and the value of agricultural products filled with farmers' dedication, was launched.


During the Food Safety Day event, various foods produced in Pocheon were exhibited and sold, and the promotional hall provided correct food management methods and hygiene information. The experience booths offered traditional foods, giving visitors nostalgic memories.


The Kaesong Ginseng Agricultural Cooperative sold fresh ginseng, which is usually hard to obtain, at discounted prices and introduced various ginseng products. They also held a kimchi-making event using ginseng, donating 160 boxes of 6kg kimchi to local welfare institutions.


At the agricultural products booth, various products such as apples, mushrooms, Shine Muscat grapes, and Cheonhwang jujubes were sold at affordable prices. Additionally, the Agricultural Foundation organized a free tasting event for seven award-winning products developed through the local food R&D project from 2023 to 2024 and conducted a satisfaction survey among visitors.


Besides these, a variety of foods including international cuisine, food trucks, snacks, rice cakes, and beverages were provided. Services and events for visitors included porter services for elderly visitors, small-scale play programs offered by eight play groups roaming the festival site, and surprise gift events.


A citizen who attended the festival said, "I was able to purchase Pocheon's agricultural specialties at reasonable prices and enjoy various programs. It was a valuable time to fully appreciate the value of agriculture."


Festival Chairman Lee Deok-ju said, "I am pleased to widely promote the excellent agricultural specialties created through the sweat and passion of Pocheon farmers," adding, "I hope this festival provides comfort to farmers and contributes to greater development of Pocheon."


Seok Young-hwan, CEO of the Pocheon Agricultural Foundation, said, "Since this Pocheon Agricultural Specialties Grand Festival was made possible by the sweat and efforts of Pocheon farmers, I hope it becomes an opportunity to create a greater Pocheon."


Pocheon Mayor Baek Young-hyun expressed deep gratitude for the hard work of farmers who achieved abundant results despite difficult conditions this year, saying, "With the launch of Pocheon's integrated agricultural specialties brand 'Pocheon Gadeuk,' I hope Pocheon's agricultural specialties become more widely known."
