Seeas Technology Utilizes Biomaterial Technology... "Diversifying Sales of Skin-Adhesive Patches"

Wearable AI specialist company Seers Technology is diversifying its sales of skin-adhesive patches using bio-material technology.

Seers announced on the 29th that it will supply the Welda Patch to Welda, a blood sugar management healthcare platform by M-Circle, an affiliate of Daewoong Pharmaceutical, through an original equipment manufacturing (OEM) method.

'Welda' is a healthcare platform launched on the 14th of this month that helps create healthy dieting habits through blood sugar management services. In particular, it provides personalized one-on-one health management solutions by analyzing users' blood sugar levels, meals, and exercise amounts using continuous glucose monitoring (CGM).

The 'Welda Patch' is a patch used when attaching the continuous glucose monitor to the skin. Considering the usability of the CGM, which requires attachment for up to 14 days, it was developed with an adhesive material that reduces skin irritation and allows easy attachment and removal.

This patch applies Seers’ skin-adhesive patch technology developed to enhance the usability of wearable devices. The company explained that it has been recognized for its technological capabilities not only in wearable biosensors and medical AI (artificial intelligence) but also in the bio-material field.

In particular, Seers has been conducting long-term research and development to internalize the core skin-adhesive materials of wearable medical devices. Since establishing an in-house adhesive material research center in 2022, it has independently built core skin-adhesive materials and process infrastructure such as silicone and hydrogel. Currently, it possesses all processes required for producing wearable medical devices in patch form that attach to the skin.

Additionally, Seers plans to introduce various bio-material products applying biocompatible adhesive materials. Through this, it aims to diversify its sales pipeline and pursue entry into the global market.

Lee Young-shin, CEO of Seers, stated, "By directly developing adhesive materials applied to wearable medical devices, we have continuously strengthened the quality competitiveness of material products. We have expanded our business not only in developing and producing our own products but also in customer-tailored product development and contract manufacturing services utilizing our infrastructure."
