Daejeon City announced on the 29th that it has appointed the hip-hop artist Mushvenom, who hails from Daejeon, as its ambassador to lead the city's hip-hop culture and strengthen its urban brand status.
Mushvenom (real name Lee Taemin) debuted in 2019 with the single album "Why Is It So Noisy" and was the runner-up on the hip-hop audition program "Show Me the Money 9." He is known for hit songs such as "Bojaboja," "Godokhaguman," and "VVS."
True to his stage name, which means "a guy with style," Mushvenom is loved by hip-hop fans for his witty lyrics and unique rap style that incorporates the Chungcheong dialect.
Over the next two years, Mushvenom plans to participate in various events representing Daejeon, communicate with citizens through music, and contribute to the development of the local hip-hop culture by collaborating on diverse hip-hop content.
Mushvenom said, "It is an honor to be appointed as the ambassador for Daejeon, my hometown. I will take the lead in promoting Daejeon, the energetic and fun city."
Daejeon Mayor Lee Jangwoo stated, "I was deeply impressed by the passionate performance at the recent Daejeon K-Hip-Hop Festival, and I am pleased to appoint you as the city's ambassador. I hope you will actively promote Daejeon's fun and charm through hip-hop, which values free expression."
