Financial Investment Industry Continues 14-Year Tradition of 'Love Kimchi Fair' Sharing Event

The Korea Financial Investment Association held the 14th "Love Kimchi Fair" donation event on the 29th at Yeouido Park, jointly with financial investment companies and securities-related organizations.

Compared to last year, the number of participating companies increased by 20%, and the number of volunteers grew by about 30%. Approximately 900 volunteers from 80 financial investment firms and related organizations participated, making it the largest event in history. The donation amount also increased by 40%. About 30 residents of Yeouido, the financial hub, joined the volunteer efforts, adding special meaning to the event.

The total of 70,000 kg of kimchi, worth approximately 320 million KRW, gathered through the generosity of the financial investment industry, will be delivered to over 160 social welfare facilities sponsored by the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation and financial investment companies.

Started in 2011 to support underprivileged neighbors during the winter, the "Love Kimchi Fair," now in its 14th year, has become a representative social contribution event in the financial investment industry, with increasing participation and kimchi donations each year.

Attendees included Hwang Young-gi, Chairman of the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation, representatives from financial investment companies and securities-related organizations. Additionally, Kang Min-guk of the People Power Party and Kang Jun-hyun of the Democratic Party, both ranking members of the National Assembly's Political Affairs Committee, as well as Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, visited to encourage the financial investment sector's win-win finance efforts, drawing attention.

Seo Yoo-seok, Chairman of the Korea Financial Investment Association, said, "The Kimchi Fair, now in its 14th year and the largest ever, is an event filled with the sincerity of financial investors practicing social responsibility through sharing," adding, "I hope the Kimchi Fair will serve as an opportunity for a mature culture of social contribution to take deeper root in creating a warm society."
