Dongjak-gu, Seoul (Mayor Park Il-ha) announced on the 29th that following the creation of the city’s first ‘Manwon Housing’ among Seoul’s autonomous districts this year, it has secured ‘Dongjak-type Jeonse Rental Housing for Young Newlywed Couples’ and begun recruiting tenants.
This Jeonse rental housing targets young newlywed couples aged 19 to 39 who do not own a home. The district signs Jeonse contracts with landlords within the area and then re-rents the properties to the selected young newlywed tenants.
The supplied housing consists of 7 locations: ▲ 221-23 Noryangjin-dong ▲ 85-19 Noryangjin-dong ▲ 227-29 Sangdo-dong (2 units) ▲ 186-19 Heukseok-dong ▲ 1020-8 Sadang-dong ▲ 206-51 Sadang-dong, each comprising at least 2 rooms and 1 bathroom.
The rental deposit is 5% of the Jeonse deposit, and the monthly rent is 10,000 KRW, the same as the ‘Yangnyeong Youth Housing.’ If tenants receive support for the monthly rent difference through designated donations from the profits of Dongjak Corporation, a district-funded institution (for those within 120% of the median income), they can live for 10,000 KRW per month.
Applicants must be newlywed or prospective newlywed couples aged 19 to 39 who are registered residents of Dongjak-gu as of the announcement date or can move in immediately upon occupancy, with income at or below 120% of the median income, applying the asset criteria for the Happy Housing newlywed couple type.
The application period is from November 4 to 11, until 6 p.m. Applicants must complete the required documents attached to the announcement and submit them via email. Winners will be announced through a lottery on December 27.
Meanwhile, the district made a significant impact last April by supplying Manwon Housing (Yangnyeong Youth Housing), allowing young people to live in the heart of Seoul for a monthly rent of 10,000 KRW.
Mayor Park Il-ha said, “The biggest concern for newlywed couples is housing,” and added, “We will continue to implement various Manwon Housing policies to solve housing problems across all sectors.”
