Driver Who Fell Asleep After Drunk Driving Without a License
A male driver who fell asleep on the road after causing a collision while driving under the influence without a license was caught by the police.
On the 28th, the YouTube channel 'Seoul Police' uploaded a video titled 'Unlicensed Drunk Driving Hit-and-Run, Arrested by Breaking Window and Detained.' According to the released video, a report was received by the police last August stating that a black passenger car caused a collision and fled the scene.
The responding police found the offending vehicle on the shoulder of Olympic-daero, but the driver was asleep. The officer tried waking him by knocking hard on the driver's side window, but he did not wake up.
Eventually, firefighters were dispatched and forcibly opened the door by breaking the car window. Only then did the driver come out of the vehicle. The breathalyzer test showed that he was at a license cancellation level (blood alcohol concentration of 0.08% or higher). It was also revealed that his license had already been canceled, making him unlicensed. The police arrested the driver who caused the drunk driving accident and fled while unlicensed.
