Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) is accelerating the creation of the ‘Nangok Park Golf Course (tentative name),’ a facility that people of all ages can enjoy, to promote healthy leisure activities for its residents.

As a key project of the 8th local government administration, the district is promoting the ‘Gwanaksan Park 24 Project,’ which aims to enable residents to enjoy the benefits of nature and culture anytime and anywhere at 24 neighborhood parks located on the slopes of Gwanaksan Mountain.

The park golf course, the first of its kind in Gwanak-gu, is part of the ‘Gwanaksan Park 24 Project’ and is being developed on a 11,285㎡ site on the slopes of Gwanaksan in Nangok-dong, with nine holes planned and completion targeted within this year.

The slopes of Gwanaksan in Nangok-dong have long faced environmental concerns from residents due to decades of waste dumping and illegal parking.

In response, the district has planned the course to maximize the geographical features surrounded by Gwanaksan and actively utilize the sloped terrain, allowing urban residents to enjoy leisure and healing amid the natural scenery of Gwanaksan.

The ‘Nangok Park Golf Course,’ a representative achievement of the Gwanaksan Park 24 Project, will serve as a new type of mountainous park golf course that connects people with nature, providing residents with a new leisure green space.

Once completed, the park golf course is expected to significantly contribute not only to the expansion of leisure facilities in the area but also to the improvement of the residential environment for local residents.

It is also anticipated to reduce the time and costs residents currently spend traveling to park golf facilities outside the district.

Additionally, reflecting the increasing demand for community sports, the district is developing a soccer-exclusive stadium on a 5,326㎡ vacant lot in the Nakseongdae area, investing approximately 2.7 billion KRW in the project.

Park Jun-hee, Mayor of Gwanak-gu, said, “I was deeply saddened by the lack of facilities in the area despite the growing demand for park golf courses. I am very pleased to create a new leisure culture through this park golf course development.” He added, “We will continue to accelerate the creation of specialized parks through the ‘Gwanaksan Park 24 Project’ so that residents can enjoy the benefits of nature and culture 24 hours a day.”
