Busan Gyeongchong Priority Project Launch... "Calling All Job-Seeking Youth and Companies"
JOB Growth Cafe ⇒ Customized Support for Confidence Recovery, Career Exploration, and Employment Skills Enhancement
Workplace Adaptation Support ⇒ Youth-Friendly Organizational Culture Training and New Employee Onboarding
Are you familiar with the youth project in Busan that stimulates the job-seeking desire of young adults starting their careers and helps them successfully adapt to the workplace?
The answer lies in the ‘2024 Busan Youth JOB Growth Project,’ launched by the Busan Employers Federation (Chairman Kim Kwang-su) last April, which is currently enjoying great popularity.
This project aims to prevent young people from giving up on job seeking and provides programs that help young adults starting their social lives successfully adapt to the workplace, thereby promoting social participation through employment, long-term employment, and job stability?a project that delivers both the “pheasant and the egg.”
The project consists of the ‘Busan Youth JOB Growth Cafe,’ which prevents job-seeking abandonment and offers personalized programs, and ‘Workplace Adaptation Support,’ designed for early adaptation of new employees and fostering youth-friendly organizational culture.
Busan Employers Federation is fully supporting the establishment of a support hub centered on the Youth JOB Growth Cafe and aiming for long-term employment and regional settlement by supporting young people’s workplace adaptation.
Kim Jae-hwan, Head of the Corporate Support Team at Busan Employers Federation, explained, “We provide onboarding programs to help young people who have just started their social lives successfully adapt to the workplace and promote youth-friendly organizational culture to encourage long-term employment and job stability among youth.”
Busan Employers Federation was selected as the project operator this year and is conducting the project targeting unemployed youth, new employees, and corporate managers in the Busan area.
The ‘Busan Youth JOB Growth Cafe,’ which opened its doors last April at the Seomyeon Dodream Center, held the nation’s first launch ceremony to announce the start of the project.
It is a youth-centered complex space tailored to regional characteristics that helps unemployed youth boost their job-seeking motivation, career planning, career exploration, and practical job preparation. After initial consultations to assess employment skills and job-seeking motivation, customized programs such as confidence recovery and career exploration are operated to help youth focus on employment.
According to Busan Employers Federation, the cafe has already produced various achievements.
Mr. A, a young job seeker preparing for employment, learned about the ‘Growth Cafe’ through a promotional advertisement last August and visited the cafe to get help with writing job applications and preparing for interviews.
After initial consultations with matching experts and several rounds of consulting, his self-introduction and job application forms were completed, and through consulting on practical interview questions and interview attitude, he gained confidence in interviews.
As a result, he successfully passed the final selection at his desired company. Mr. A’s case is a ‘sweet’ example of how the Busan Youth JOB Growth Cafe provides practical services to young job seekers and greatly contributes to their employment.
Mr. B, a young person who was resting after resignation to explore his career path, also enjoyed the ‘sweetness’ at this cafe.
He visited the cafe after hearing about its opening while struggling with career decisions. While searching for creative work that could realize social value, he participated in confidence recovery programs to boost job-seeking motivation and self-esteem, and through various program participation, he began a new challenge in cultural and artistic planning.
Mr. B proudly said, “Through the various programs of the Youth Growth Project, I was able to rediscover the dreams I had lost and present a new vision as a cultural and artistic planner by meeting diverse education and people.”
He added, “The Youth Growth Project became an important stepping stone for growth, and I hope it continues to play the same role for many young people in the future.”

A representative from Busan Employers Federation introduced that the ‘Workplace Adaptation Support’ program consists of organizational culture education for creating youth-friendly organizational culture targeting corporate executives and new employees, and onboarding programs to improve new employees’ adaptability.
The ‘Youth-Friendly Organizational Culture Education’ provides courses on communication strategies and communication leadership to facilitate smooth communication between corporate managers and new employees and foster a youth-friendly organizational culture.
Workplace manners, OA (office automation) skill enhancement, and smart work communication methods to improve new employees’ workplace adaptability will be provided through the ‘New Employee Onboarding Program.’
By operating the ‘Workplace Adaptation Support Program,’ it is expected to solve intergenerational communication problems within the workplace, improve rigid corporate culture, enhance employees’ adaptation to their duties, encourage long-term employment, and contribute to regional settlement based on youth jobs.
Office worker Mr. Kim, who participated in the training, attended two sessions on “How to Work Well with the 20s and 30s Generation” and “Coach Rather Than Teach.”
Mr. Kim said, “The lectures were informative and helpful, so I recommended them to company employees and the CEO, who also took the same training, which greatly helped strengthen bonds,” expressing his gratitude.
Mr. Park, a corporate HR manager planning workplace etiquette training for new employees, conducted a lecture titled ‘Workplace Life Guide Communication Strategy’ through the ‘New Employee Onboarding’ support. Following its huge popularity, he also secured a lecture on ‘Core Values and Fostering Employees’ Professionalism.’
Busan Employers Federation, which operates workplace adaptation support, prepares various customized programs reflecting corporate characteristics and conducts on-site lectures at companies. They also run weekend programs to relieve stress and prevent burnout among new employees in Busan, attracting participants’ interest while helping improve job skills and workplace adaptation.
Busan Employers Federation explained that the number of companies applying for new employee onboarding through the Busan Youth JOB Growth Project’s workplace adaptation support is gradually increasing, helping new employees adapt and improve job skills, leading to long-term employment of youth.
Youth and companies in the region wishing to participate in this project can apply through the Busan Youth JOB Growth Cafe website. For more details, contact the Busan Employers Federation, the operating organization.
Park Joo-wan, Executive Vice Chairman of Busan Employers Federation, said, “We will strive to ensure that the Youth Growth Project continues to develop next year and devote our efforts to making it a model of excellent youth policy cooperation between the government and local governments. We plan to enhance the project’s completeness so that young people can dream and live in the region.”
