A store owner who had been providing free drinks to delivery drivers visiting the shop announced that they would stop this act of kindness due to some delivery drivers' rude behavior.
A, who runs a restaurant, posted on their Instagram on the 27th a message titled "I'm going to stop this nonsense now." For over a year, A had been giving one drink each to delivery drivers visiting the store as a token of appreciation.
However, as time passed, "exactly the situation I feared" occurred. A became accustomed to seeing empty drink cans left by delivery drivers in front of the store after closing. Thinking it was because there was no trash bin, A installed one, but nothing changed. A lamented, "The trash bin was full within half a day and became everyone's trash bin," adding, "The area around the bin turned into a mess, and sorting the recyclables became my responsibility again."
Appealed with "Please only throw away cans," but...
Exhausted from cleaning up the trash, A wrote "Please only throw away cans" on the trash bin, but the rude behavior continued. Delivery drivers left drink cans anywhere in the store?on the sofa, the counter, the floor. A shared a photo of a delivery driver leaving a drink can behind a monitor and expressed anger, saying, "Why did you leave the trash behind the monitor after drinking? It was hidden behind the monitor, so I didn't notice until closing. What would the customers have thought?"
A further explained, "Last time, I ran out of drinks and couldn't give any, and they said, 'Hey, it's hot and there's no cold drink,'" and declared they would stop the free drink distribution, saying, "I won't do it anymore. I can't do it. I guess this is as far as my generosity goes."
Netizens who read the story responded with comments such as, "They say if kindness continues, people think it's a right," "Not all delivery drivers are like that, but it creates prejudice," "A normal person would feel grateful and want to help somehow," "Is it really that hard to throw away trash properly?" "This shows a lack of humanity," "There are many cases like this around. You shouldn't do this from the start," and "Self-employed people suffer again today."
