PMT is showing strength. It is interpreted to be influenced by the news that Samsung Electronics has received conditional approval as a partner for NVIDIA's High Bandwidth Memory (HBM).
As of 1:34 PM on the 28th, PMT is trading at 3,660 KRW, up 7.65% compared to the previous day.
According to industry sources, a Taiwanese media outlet reported that NVIDIA has given conditional approval to include Samsung Electronics as an HBM supplier. Due to a short-term shortage in the HBM market, it was decided to utilize semiconductors supplied by Samsung Electronics in addition to SK Hynix and Micron.
However, DigiTimes reported that the technical specifications and shipment volume of HBM provided by Samsung Electronics to NVIDIA will be limited, and that Samsung is not officially included in the supply chain.
Currently, NVIDIA is focusing on securing HBM to meet customer demand ahead of the launch of its new AI semiconductor ‘Blackwell’ series.
Meanwhile, PMT is a company that manufactures and sells probe cards used in the testing process for electrical function inspection of semiconductor devices. It holds the only 3D MEMS probe card technology in Korea, with over 90% of its sales coming from Samsung Electronics.
