'Environment, Climate Crisis' Topic
Osan City in Gyeonggi Province will hold the '2024 Osan City Library Book Festival' at Kkumdure Library on the 9th of next month.
Since 2015, this annual event has been a festival organized with the participation of citizen volunteer groups, Sema High School science club, and citizen reading organizations to promote reading and provide various cultural experiences.
Celebrating the 10th anniversary of its opening, Kkumdure Library will operate 25 different experience booths this year under the theme of 'Environment, Climate Crisis,' including ▲making single-section notebooks using recycled paper ▲creating personalized name tags using leftover leather ▲making eco-friendly clay soap, among others.
The event will also feature ▲The Reading Wizard’s Environmental Love & Harmonica Performance ▲Variety Bubble & Balloon Show ▲One-day special lectures on environmental topics ▲Recycling exchange ▲Book exchange exhibition, and more.
Anyone can freely participate and watch on the day of the event, and for the one-day special lectures, prior registration through the Osan City Education Portal website is required.
Han Hyun, Director of Osan City Central Library, said, "This book festival will be a time to reflect on environmental issues and the climate crisis," adding, "We have prepared a space where the whole family can enjoy and experience, so we hope many citizens will participate."
