Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 28th that it has distributed the organizational culture codebook ‘THE RIGHT WAY,’ which it directly developed to foster a proactive working atmosphere, to all employees and departments.
The codebook presents five talent qualities and eight behavioral principles to help Pocheon City employees approach their work with the identity of being ‘people who start proactively and accomplish together.’ The key themes are conviction, responsibility, rationality, respect, and growth, concretizing the right choices for citizens and society, as well as the right actions for colleagues and the organization.
To this end, since April, Pocheon City has been operating a ‘Change Agent Training Workshop’ for team-level managers to strengthen leadership capabilities and redefine communication methods. In August, a ‘Organizational Culture Improvement Workshop’ was held for graduates to analyze the current state of the organization and specifically establish Pocheon City’s unique identity and behavioral principles.
Additionally, the organizational culture code presented this time was also shared at the new public officials workshop held on the 21st. New public officials understood the code directly implemented by their senior colleagues and strengthened their sense of belonging.
Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon City said, “I hope that Pocheon City’s unique organizational culture code will serve as a compass for employees to carry out their work with conviction and become an opportunity to implement trusted administration through communication and cooperation.”
Meanwhile, since July, Pocheon City has been operating ‘Hwatong Day,’ a regular communication program to activate interdepartmental communication. Starting in December, it plans to further accelerate organizational culture reform by establishing regular communication forums such as ‘Soshintok,’ which critically examines organizational issues by job series.
