300,000 to 1,100,000 Won... 25 Births per Delivery
Cheonan City in Chungnam Province announced on the 28th that it will provide financial support for fertility treatment to infertile couples regardless of age.
The city has decided to offer the same amount of support for treatment costs without age distinction, abolishing the previous policy that provided different amounts based on whether the woman was under or over 45 years old. As a result, 1.1 million KRW will be provided for fresh embryo procedures, 500,000 KRW for frozen embryo procedures, and 300,000 KRW for artificial insemination, regardless of age.
The number of supported procedures has also been expanded from a lifetime limit of 25 times per couple to 25 times per childbirth.
In cases where treatment is discontinued due to unavoidable reasons, such as when no eggs are found in the ovaries, the city will still provide financial support.
Park Sangdon, Mayor of Cheonan, said, "We will gradually expand support for infertile couples to reduce their financial burden and provide psychological stability," adding, "We will seek various policies to overcome the low birth rate."
