Advancement of Climate Crisis Reflection System
Plans for Regular Simulation Training and System Improvements Ahead
The Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) announced on the 28th that it has obtained the 'Disaster Mitigation Excellent Company Certification' overseen by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The Disaster Mitigation Excellent Company Certification is a system that awards certificates to outstanding companies that establish disaster mitigation activity plans to restore and resume the institution's core tasks and functions within the target time in the event of a disaster, and evaluates the suitability of the company's disaster mitigation activity management system according to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's corporate disaster management standards.
Last year, KISA established a Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) at the enterprise-wide level to build a disaster safety response system and received ISO 22301 certification, an international standard in the disaster safety field. This year, KISA advanced the system by discovering additional core tasks and expanding interruption scenarios reflecting climate crises such as typhoons and floods, ultimately obtaining the domestic standard certification of Disaster Mitigation Excellent Company Certification.
In the mid to long term, KISA plans to strengthen the on-site operability of the enterprise-wide disaster response and recovery system and focus on system internalization through regular drills and continuous system improvement activities.
Lee Sang-jung, President of KISA, stated, "We will secure resilience and response capabilities to quickly normalize KISA's core tasks and functions even in various disaster situations, becoming a public institution trusted by the government and the people."
