Mutual Cooperation in UAM, Drone, and Spatial Information Fields... Accelerating Innovation in Future Transportation

Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 28th that on the 25th, it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for mutual cooperation in the fields of Urban Air Mobility (UAM), drone systems, and spatial information with Hanjin Information & Communications and Wavious at KINTEX Exhibition Hall 2.
This agreement was established to build a long-term cooperative relationship for the development of the UAM and drone industries, involving Goyang Special City, Hanjin Information & Communications, the leading domestic air logistics company, and Wavious, a leading company in the Geographic Information System (GIS) sector.
The signing ceremony, held as one of the main events of the ‘2024 Goyang Drone & Urban Air Mobility Expo’ on the same day, was attended by Lee Dong-hwan, Mayor of Goyang Special City, Byun Bong-seop, CEO of Hanjin Information & Communications, and Park Chang-hoon, CEO of Wavious.
The main contents of the agreement include △ cooperation to establish UAM and drone safety systems and spatial information systems △ system advisory support related to the designation of UAM demonstration and pilot operation zones △ mutual cooperation among the organizations in the fields of aviation and UAM.
Mayor Lee Dong-hwan of Goyang Special City stated, "Through this agreement, we expect to lead the advancement of UAM and drone technologies by establishing long-term cooperative relationships with specialized companies," and added, "We will actively introduce advanced aerial mobility and drone system technologies to take a step closer to realizing a smart city.”
