Dobong-gu (District Mayor Oh Eon-seok) Dobong 1-dong held the '2024 Dobong 1-dong Senior Citizens Event' at Dobong Methodist Church on October 23.
About 230 local senior citizens attended the event.
Organized by the Dobong 1-dong Community Social Security Council (Chairman Yoo Han-jong), this event was prepared to foster a social atmosphere that respects the elderly and promotes filial piety in the community.
The event featured congratulatory performances including folk songs, trot, disco janggu, and children's performances, as well as awards for senior welfare merit recipients and a gift package presentation consisting of food and fruit.
For this event, local religious facilities and businesses joined forces. Dobong Methodist Church, Seowonam, Gwangryunsa, Goryeo Gift Co., Ltd., Yeongju Textile, and Daily_365 Socks sponsored goods and other items.
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, "I thank everyone who helped with the senior citizens event. We will continue to organize many such events for the joyful and happy later years of our elders."
