3 Locations Installed: Doksan 1-dong, Doksan 1-dong Branch, Siheung 3-dong
Night Lighting Installed, Available for Autonomous Use 24 Hours Year-Round
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will operate the "Village Green Safe Transaction Zones" to allow residents such as single-person households and teenagers to safely conduct direct transactions of secondhand goods.
The district established this to prevent crimes such as fraud that may occur during secondhand transactions and to help residents trade used goods more safely and actively, thereby promoting resource recycling.
The "Safe Transaction Zones" have been installed outside three locations: Doksan 1-dong Peaches Village Sudabang, Doksan 1-dong Branch Geumha Village Residents' Shared Facility, and Siheung 3-dong Park Mi Sarang Village Hall.
Each location is a public place with high foot traffic, ensuring safety, and is set up outdoors so that anyone can freely use it 24 hours a day, year-round.
Additionally, each area features lighting sculptures and ground lighting (gobo lighting) reflecting the characteristics of each village to make them noticeable even at night.
In particular, the Peaches Village Sudabang features peach trees and cats, the Geumha Village Residents' Shared Facility displays rabbits and the moon, and the Park Mi Sarang Village Hall expresses trees symbolizing the blue nature, adding symbolic meaning to each location.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, "We hope many people will visit the newly established 'Village Green Safe Transaction Zones' to safely share used items and create a village of resource circulation."
