November 9 ‘Busan Fireworks Festival’ safety management plan review... Inspection of safety measures and inter-agency cooperation system
Busan City will fully activate the safety management system to ensure the ‘19th Busan Fireworks Festival’ held on November 9 proceeds without any safety accidents.
On the 28th at 4:30 PM, the city will hold a Safety Management Committee meeting in the main conference room of City Hall to review the '19th Busan Fireworks Festival Safety Management Plan.'
The ‘Safety Management Committee’ is an organization established to deliberate and coordinate matters related to regional disaster and safety management.
To systematically manage the safety of the fireworks festival held across multiple areas, the city has adjusted the safety management plan review body from district jurisdiction to the city level since last year, promoting thorough safety management.
At this Safety Management Committee meeting, over 40 members including Chairman Mayor Park Hyung-joon, heads of disaster management agencies in Busan, the police chief, military unit commanders, and private safety management experts will attend to meticulously inspect the safety management plan for the ‘19th Busan Fireworks Festival’ and strengthen the cooperation system among related organizations.
On the 17th, the city held a Regional Safety Council meeting chaired by the Deputy Mayor, where fireworks festival-related officials gathered to review and discuss overall safety inspections, holding several preliminary meetings for meticulous safety management.
Today’s meeting will review the comprehensive safety management plan including the operation of the integrated control center, as well as safety measures by type such as spectator safety (including vulnerable groups), traffic, firefighting, and maritime safety management. Issues such as unfair commercial activities and restroom measures will also be discussed from a comprehensive perspective.
Mayor Park Hyung-joon emphasized, “We must prioritize the safety of citizens visiting the fireworks festival and prepare for safety management to an extent that may seem excessive.” He added, “I ask all related organizations to do their best in their respective positions with the goal of having not a single safety accident until the moment the fireworks festival concludes.”
